Today is International Children's Day
The World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland, proclaimed June 1 to be International Children's Day in 1925. It is usually marked with speeches on children's rights and wellbeing, and other events involving or dedicated to children.
International Children’s Day is celebrated almost in all countries. It is not only one of the most joyful holidays for children, but it is also a reminder for grown-ups that children need constant care and protection and adults are responsible for them.
International Children’s Day is the day of mobilization of social opinion for child protection, observance of rights of children for life, education and leisure, for protection from physical and psychological violence, exploitation of child labor, as necessary conditions for construction of humane and fair society.
