Azeri forces opened fire at Stepanakert from Shushi in April
Azerbaijani forces opened fire at Artsakh’s capital city of Stepanakert from the town of Shushi occupied by them during last year’s war, causing material damage.
In a statement on Thursday, the Investigative Committee of Artsakh said it has accepted into procedure a criminal case opened over the shooting which damaged the roof of a pavilion owned by a Stepanakert resident born in 1944.
The incident occurred on 22 April 2021. Azeri troops opened fire from a Shushi hilltop towards Madatov Street in Stepanakert in an effort to deliberately damage a property motivated by ethnic hatred.
The preliminary probe is underway.
