Sofia Hovsepyan to ruling bloc MPs: Armenian state and people suffered a heavy blow, while none of you reacts in any way
Independent MP Sofia Hovsepyan on Thursday slammed the pro-government lawmakers for their failure to condemn the disrespectful treatment of the bodies of Armenian soldiers killed during last year’s war in Artsakh.
“I want to understand whether the MPs live in Armenia or in another country, completely cut off from the reality?” she said at a special parliament sitting.
The lawmaker underlined that the ruling bloc MPs did not condemn or somehow react to the degrading storage conditions of the soldiers’ remains in the Abovyan morgue.
“Moreover, you are all well informed about it, since I personally told you about this problem back in December last year,” Hovsepyan said.
“The state and people have suffered a heavy blow, while none of you responds in any way. I want to understand whether all this is normal for you? Is it normal for the acting minister of health to come up with some kind of excuses, dismissals and explanations for several days?” the MP said. “Are you OK with what is going on? Is it normal that yesterday morning Azerbaijanis once again showed a humiliating attitude towards our military?”
She asked the ruling faction MPs to express their position on the matter at today’s parliament sitting.
"Let's figure out whether we live in this country and are its masters, or we just hold some positions,” Hovsepyan said.
