ICRC delegates visit detained Armenian servicemen in Baku
The delegates of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Baku visited Armenian servicemen held in Azerbaijan who had been captured near the border area of Armenia's Gegharkunik province.
"The delegates of the ICRC visited the servicemen detained recently , monitored their conditions of detention and health and offered an opportunity to convey messages between them and their family members," Zara Amatuni, head of communications at the ICRC delegation in Yerevan told Panorama.am.
Amatuni added, that the ICRC representatives had visited officially confirmed other detained servicemen in late May.
To remind, early in the morning of May 27, six servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia were surrounded and captured by the Azerbaijani armed forces while carrying out engineering works in the territory of N military unit under the Armed Forces of Armenia. The incident took place in the bordering area of the Gegharkunik region.
