Tobacco production volumes dropped by 25.4% in Armenia
In January-March 2021, the tobacco production volumes dropped by 25.4% in Armenia compared to the same period of 2020, according to the data released by the National Statistical Service (NSS).
As Panorama.am was informed at the NSS, in the first three months of the ongoing year, 4 million 828.3 thousand units of cigarettes were produced in Armenia. The production volumes registered in the same period of the previous year stood at 6 million 471.9 thousand units.
The tobacco production share in the general production sphere in Armenia has made up 10.7% due to the registered drop.
To note, surveys indicate that more than 50 percent of Armenia men above 16 and almost 4 percent of women smoke.
