Serzh Sargsyan: If I were the supreme commander, I would just kill myself under such a situation
“War is the most hated thing in life for me,” third President of Armenia, Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Serzh Sargsyan said at a meeting with members of his I Have the Honor bloc and supporters in the town of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor Province on Sunday.
The alliance formed by the RPA and the Homeland Party are running in Armenia’s snap parliamentary elections scheduled for June 20.
“I have never wanted not only wars to be fought, but also any kind of military operations. But when you are terrified, you end up like this. Today they [Azeri forces] have taken 6 [Armenian soldiers] prisoner, tomorrow they will capture 16 others, the next day – 36, and what is next?” he said.
“If he [caretaker PM Pashinyan] had a little bit of dignity, he would have committed suicide. I swear if I were the supreme commander, I would just kill myself under such a situation.
“Who needs such a life? Living with the deaths of 5,000 people on your conscience, let alone 5,000 deaths from COVID-19, the defeated army, the Azerbaijanis simply make fun of you,” Sargsyan said.
