Armen Gevorgyan: ‘We will fight to the end, to victory’
The head of the election campaign headquarters of the Armenia bloc, former Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Armen Gevorgyan denounced caretaker Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s latest statements on post-election “political and civil vendettas”.
In a post on his Telegram channel on Wednesday, he accused Pashinyan of trying to drag the political forces running in the June 20 snap parliamentary elections into confrontation, making it the focus of the election campaign.
“If he fails to realize it even due to his psychological inferiority, his teammates must realize how dangerous his steps are for their own future. After all, if he dares to talk about vendettas and other aggressive acts, he should not forget about the feelings many parents of the innocent war victims have been experiencing for months,” Gevorgyan wrote.
“We must finally realize that there is no longer the Armenia of December 2018. There is the Armenia of 2021, where “nikolism” is a subject of political rejection and which serious public sentiments and political forces are opposing. This process will not end until “nikolism” as an anti-national, anti-state and immoral phenomenon is finally eliminated from the political history of the country.
“Believe me, we sincerely want to discuss security issues, efforts to restore the country's image, improve the economic situation and stop migration, as well as the formation of a new agenda with the Diaspora with the society. It is very difficult for us to do in a situation when the opponents are emotionally unstable people, when our supporters are facing intimidation and when every day the enemy takes our citizens prisoner.
“We will fight to the end, to victory. The fate of our country, the status and place of our state in the region, as well as how many Armenians will remain in the country after June 20 depends on our decisiveness. We are decisively moving towards a strong Armenia,” Gevorgyan said.
