Authorities pressuring almost all community heads, school principals, heads of medical centers – Armenia bloc’s MP candidate
Armenia bloc’s MP candidate, Reviving Armenia Party Chairman Vahe Hakobyan pledged his alliance’s commitment to turn the whole of Armenia into a “construction site” and build a strong army as he addressed voters in the town of Spitak in Armenia’s Lori Province on Saturday.
The Armenia bloc, led by second President Robert Kocharyan, is running in the snap parliamentary elections scheduled for June 20.
“The people of Spitak have a better understanding of what it means to have a competent government in a crisis situation. If in the 1980s Lori and Shirak were in ruins, now the whole of Armenia is in ruins,” the politician said.
Hakobyan indicated that the authorities “have already lost” and are now trying to incite provocations during the opposition campaign rallies.
He stated that at present the authorities are pressuring almost all community heads, school principals and heads of medical centers.
"But the chapter of their rule is already closed, as evidenced by the decline in their rating. Only a small group of people now support the authorities,” he said, urging their supporters to talk to the “misguided citizens and bring them back to reality.”
Noting that 99% of the buildings in Spitak were built during the tenure of Robert Kocharyan, Vahe Hakobyan added. "After coming to power, we will turn the whole of Armenia into a construction site, we will build a strong army, because we must dictate the agenda, not our enemies, we will have a healthy economy and ensure proportionate development of the regions."
Concluding his speech, Hakobyan underlined that on June 20, together with the people, they will close the chapter of “nikolism” and open the chapter of a new and strong Armenia.
