Baku and Ankara moving towards the implementation of the 'Turan corridor' under the guise of “unblocking” transportation links - Vardan Voskanyan
Expert in Iranian studies Vardan Voskanyan commented on Facebook the recent declaration signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey in Shushi, which contains a reference to the importance of the so-called 'Zangezur corridor' and the proposed construction of the new Kars-Nakhijevan railway.
"This makes clear that under the guise of the delusive concept of unblocking the transportation links, Baku and Ankara are actively promoting the implementation of 'Turan corridor' given the fact that to get to Nakhijevan from Kars there is a railway Kars-Gyumri-Yeraskh-Nakhijevan which, however, passed mostly through the territory of Armenia. Consequently, the proposed railway from Nakhijevan to Kars to be constructed to bypass Armenia in the area of Gyumri-Yeraskh not only contradicts to the logic and assurances to unblock the transportations links, but quite the opposite - is aimed to bypass Armenia and create a land connection between Turkey and the imaginary "Turan"," Voskanyan wrote.
The expert also questioned the acting PM Pashinyan's actions at the time when the head of enemy allied states made the arrangements for their fitter plans. "Nothing, except hysterically brandishing steel hammer during election campaign," added.
