Snap parliamentary elections underway in Armenia
Voting at the parliamentary elections in Armenia began at 08:00 on Sunday at polling stations throughout the republic. The polling stations will be closed at 20.00.
Overall, 25 political forces, including 4 blocs, are running in the elections. More than 2,500 candidates are on the electoral lists of the political forces. According to the information provided by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), observers from the OSCE/ODIHR, CIS Observation Mission, CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, OSCE, OSCE PA, CSTO PA, Russian Public Chamber and International Organization of the Francophonie will monitor the elections.
The total number of eligible voters included in the official registry is 2,578,678.
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has accredited 49 foreign media outlets to cover Sunday’s snap parliamentary elections in Armenia.
The largest number of accredited media is Russian media. Media representatives from Germany, France, Israel, Spain, as well as China, Kurdistan, Estonia have also arrived in Armenia to cover the elections.
