Sovereign Armenia Party candidate Narine Martirosyan wrongfully detained
Narine Martirosyan, a candidate of MP from the Sovereign Armenia Party, was wrongfully detained as she left the 6/31 polling station in Yerevan after casting her ballot in the snap parliamentary elections, party leader Davit Sanasaryan said on Facebook.
He said a group of police officers in plain clothes took her to the Mashtots police department after confirming her identity.
“I contacted Mrs. Martirosyan a short while ago and she said that they had apologized for the incident,” Sanasaryan said.
He denounced such an “unprofessional conduct” of law enforcement agencies and urged them to go after “actual criminals”.
