Armenia added to EU’s list of epidemiologically safe countries
Residents of 11 more third-countries, Armenia, among them will benefit from restriction-free entry to the European Union and Schengen Area Member States. As SchengenVisaInfo.com reports, the Council of the EU agreed to add these countries to the EU’s list of epidemiologically safe third countries by the end of this week.
The decision has been taken on June 30, during a regular meeting of the EU ambassadors, who review the list of safe third countries every two weeks, the source reports. Apart from Armenia, the list includes Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brunei, Canada, Jordan, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, Qatar, Saudi Arabia.
It is noted that all 11 of the countries have recorded a low number of COVID-19 cases recently.
To note, Armenia has confirmed 128 new cases of coronavirus ion June 20. Armenia now has 2,704 active cases. As many as 1,185,002 tests have been performed in the country since the disease outbreak.
