Tigran Abrahamyan comments on Stanislav Zas statement about Syunik
Expert in security issues, the Head of "Henaket" analytical center Tigran Abrahamyan commented on Facebook the statement by CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas about the border situation in Armenia's Syunik province and the possible actions by the security bloc.
To remind, Zas told media earlier that CSTO capacity is used only in the event of an aggression, an invasion. "Here we actually have a border incident. Thank God, there are no casualties, no shooting there. This is a border incident, it must be dealt with, and we are in favor of resolving the issue by peaceful means," Zas had said.
"If we translate this statement from diplomatic language it says there is no fighting there, you are not fighting and why we should interfere and fight instead of you," Abrahamyan wrote. He also recalled the statements made by Armenian leaders made after May 12, boasting about the fact that no fighting and shooting had been recorded in the border area. "As if conceding territories without any resistance was something to be proud of. And here is the response we got for that," concluded Abrahamyan.
