Russian peacekeepers held an interactive class on peacekeeping at a school camp in Artsakh
The servicemen of Russian peacekeeping contingent were invited to a school camp in Askeran region of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) for an interactive lesson on peacekeeping, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
According to the source, during the lesson, the servicemen presented the main tasks of peacekeeping contingents and the history of peacekeeping forces in Russia and in the world.
The children were explained about the dangers of explosives in areas where military actions had taken place. The school students were trained on offering first aid. The Russian peacekeepers also demonstrated how the territories are cleared of mines, and how a mine detector, gave them to try on equipment to feel like real peacekeepers.
According to the Ministry, during the implementation of peacekeeping tasks in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian servicemen came to visit children more than 60 times to conduct interactive lessons on history, patriotic actions and thematic creative meetings. In total, more than 5,500 schoolchildren and students took part in these events.
