Number of jobless people rises in Armenia
The number of unemployed people increased in Armenia by 444 in May from January of this year, according to the official figures released by the Statistical Committee on Tuesday.
In January 61,757 unemployed people were officially registered, while the number stood at 62,201 in May.
Incidentally, the number of unemployed was 62,608 in February, 62,999 – in March, and 62,711 – in April.
The number of jobless people fell this May compared to May 2020. It is attributed to the fact that last year many jobs were cut and businesses closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
