
53 journalists attacked by right wing activists protesting Tbilisi pride
A total of 53 representatives of various media outlets have been injured while covering the rally of right wing activists against the Tbilisi Pride march that was scheduled forMonday, based on the Interior Ministry.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili visited the New Hospitals to see the injured journalist. She expressed her solidarity towards all journalists attacked and condemned the violence.
Civil.ge reports that police have arrested three persons for assaulting journalists and interfering with their professional activities. Under the ongoing investigation into yesterday’s mob violence, the Interior Ministry said police have already questioned 25 media representatives, and are examining video footages of the incidents.
