ARF: Migration reaches dangerous levels, which is a direct blow to Armenian statehood
The 24th Supreme Convention of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF, Dashnaktsutyun), which was held in Yerevan on July 2-4, adopted a statement, that was read out by ARF Supreme Council member Ishkhan Saghatelyan at a news conference on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the June 20 snap parliamentary elections did not help overcome the political and social crisis that the country has been facing for a long time.
“The authorities that led the country to a defeat, misusing administrative and financial levers, resorting to falsifications and using all impermissible methods to mislead the population, managed to reproduce themselves, which is a serious challenge for our national security and statehood.
The ARF formed the Armenia bloc with its partners to jointly run in the snap parliamentary elections and took a decisive part in the election campaign, with the Armenia alliance becoming the real and main challenger to the current authorities.
In the post-election period, the authorities are still sticking to the policy of dividing the society, deepening the watersheds in the country, launching political persecution, ignoring the Artsakh issue, deliberately destroying the country's security system and organizing a campaign against national values and institutions.
Migration is reaching dangerous levels, which is a direct blow to our statehood.
Based on the current situation, the ARF Supreme Convention declares that it will consistently fight for the removal of the treacherous government, will act as a radical opposition and will use all possible means of political struggle,” the statement says.
According to it, the ARF, jointly with the Armenia alliance, will continue its struggle for the realization of common goals, will be committed to the struggle for the recognition of the independence of the Republic of Artsakh, restoration of its territorial integrity and protection of the rights of displaced persons, will resolutely oppose processes that threaten the territorial integrity of Armenia, inviolability of its borders and its sovereignty, as well as disguised or explicit steps by the authorities aimed at “destroying” the Armenian military and the Armenian Apostolic Church.
“The motherland, Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh, the Armenian army and the future of our people are in danger. The ARF calls on the party members and compatriots concerned about the future of the country to continue the decisive struggle for the earliest possible removal of the treacherous authorities and building a strong Armenia,” the statement reads.
