Armenia’s Constitutional Court starts hearing election appeals
The Constitutional Court of Armenia on Friday started hearing the appeals of four political forces challenging the results of the June 20 snap parliamentary elections.
The separate appeals have been lodged by the opposition Armenia bloc, I’m Honored bloc, Zartonk (Awakening) National Christian Party and Hayots Hayrenik (Armenian Homeland) Party.
The Court is examining all the appeals as part of one case since all concern the same issue.
The ruling Civil Contract Party is also set to take part in the hearings of the election appeals.
Attending the hearings are also representatives of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia, in particular CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan, CEC Secretary Armen Smbatyan and member Nune Hovhannisyan.
The reporting judge is Edgar Shatiryan.
