USCIRF ‘deeply troubled’ to see evidence of post-war damage to religious sites in Nagorno-Karabakh
The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) expressed deep concerns over the evidence of post-war damage to religious sites in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).
“USCIRF Chair Nadine Maenza: ‘USCIRF is deeply troubled to see evidence of post-war damage to religious sites in Nagorno-Karabakh. We call on Azerbaijan to cease construction threatening these sites and to allow UNESCO to fully investigate their status’,” USCIRF said in a tweet, sharing a Caucasus Heritage report on the damage to historical and cultural heritage in Artsakh.
