Opposition leader says anti-government protests will resume in Armenia
The anti-government protests organized by Armenia’s opposition forces will resume, one of the leaders of the opposition Armenia bloc, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Supreme Council, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, said on Tuesday.
“By winning parliamentary seats, we won’t become just a parliamentary opposition. The street protests against the current authorities will continue,” he told a news conference.
He noted that they attach great importance to the people's self-organization in the near future to continue their acts of civil disobedience and movements and to fight against Nikol Pashinyan and his cabinet on two or three fronts.
"In other words, nothing has changed in our assessments and approaches to the actions of these authorities, therefore we will resort to more resolute means of struggle.
"I am announcing now that the street protests will continue," Saghatelyan said.
