Boris Navasardyan: Fivefold increase in amount of compensation for Armenian MPs’ expenses is ‘mockery’
Chairman of the Yerevan Press Club Boris Navasardian reacted to the bill calling for amendments to the law “On Remuneration for Persons Holding State Positions and Public Service Positions” passed by the National Assembly on Thursday.
The bill drafted by the My Step MPs proposes to increase the monthly amount allocated for the expenses of Armenian lawmakers from 50,000 to 250,000 drams.
“Regardless of the actual workload and related expenses, I believe the fivefold increase in the amount of compensation for expenses of MPs is a mockery, when many people who have lost all their property in Artsakh have not yet been paid compensation envisaged for them,” Navasardian wrote on Facebook.
“Facing a difficult situation, they do not even know when they will receive these funds necessary for their daily existence. The more the decisions similar to this one, the later they will receive them... in the best case scenario,” he said.
