Russian peacekeepers ensure safety of people harvesting wheat in Artsakh’s Martakert
Russian peacekeepers ensure the safety of local residents during the grain harvest in the Martakert district of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), the Defense Ministry of Russia said in a statement on Friday.
For this region, it is believed that the wheat harvest began with a great delay, because winter crops will begin in two months, and the fields will not have time to recover.
With the harvesting of fields in the Martakert district, the wheat harvest in Nagorno-Karabakh will be almost completed, but local residents are already turning to the Humanitarian Response Center in order not to disrupt the sowing operations.
To monitor the ceasefire and military operations, a peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is being deployed in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
