Azerbaijani forces fired on Armenian positions in Gegharkunik at night, community head says
The Azerbaijani military opened fire at the Armenian positions in Gegharkunik Province at night, head of the Geghamasar community Hakob Avetyan told Panorama.am on Tuesday.
“At night, shots were fired from the Azerbaijani side, but they stopped in the middle of the night. The shooting was intense, but they did not use heavy equipment, only firearms were used. The situation is calm now,” he said.
Hakob Avetyan said that Armenian forces did not return fire. “The enemy repeatedly violates the regime. There were nights when few shots were fired, but the gunfire was intense last night. The Armenian side, unlike the Azeris, is showing restraint,” he said.
The official says that there are no reports of injuries, adding if there were any, they would be informed about it.
There is always concern among the local residents in connection with the actions of the enemy, the leader of the Geghamasar community added.
