Yerevan’s Cafesjian Center for the Arts to host exhibition of works by Italian artist Ugo Nespolo
Yerevan’s Cafesjian Center for the Arts (CCA), in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Armenia, announces the opening of the exhibition, Ugo Nespolo: florilegio on July 23 at Sauntsi Davit Garden Gallery, featuring unique anthology of works from the Italian celebrated modernist artist’s versatile oeuvre, CCA said on Wednesday.
Ugo Nespolo is a modern artist with Renaissance skills, practicing a meticulous research that leads him to investigate the plurality of languages and territories. There is, in fact, in his varied path, the desire to question, review and rewrite in the subtle formulations and articulations the traditional rules of painting and sculpture.
This show consisting of 22 pieces highlights the multifaceted interests of the artist, both theme and technique wise.
“With the exhibition of the works by Ugo Nespolo, Florilegio, as the first appointment of the Italian cultural program in Armenia in 2021, we celebrate the slow return to normality that now seems like the end of the pandemic crisis”,- states the Ambassador of Italy in Armenia Alfonso Di Riso.
“During its long-term operations, CCA has established traditions of effective cooperation. Particularly, various projects have been implemented with Italian partners, opening new horizons of modern and contemporary art to the public, including this exhibition, Ugo Nespolo: florilegio,” says Vahagn Marabyan, CCA Acting Executive Director․
Ugo Nespolo: florilegio exhibition will run from July 23 to October 3. The entrance is free of charge.
