Woman gives birth to naturally conceived triplets in Armenia
An Armenian woman has given birth to triplets that were conceived naturally. The babies were born at the Shengavit Medical Center in Yerevan.
25-year-old Laura Mirzoyan from the village of Nor Kyank in Armenia’s Ararat Province and her husband were planning to have a second child. However, after an early pregnancy scanning, they learned that they would have three sons at once.
They could not even imagine that soon they would have not two, but four children at once, and all of them would be boys, the Shengavit Medical Center reported.
Areg, Aren and Aram were born weighing 1700, 1950 and 1900 grams, respectively, by Caesarean section at 34-35 weeks of pregnancy on July 21, with the help of Karine Hovhannisyan, an obstetrician-gynecologist of the Shengavit Medical Center.
The babies were provided with intensive care under the supervision of neonatologist Artur Janazyan and were discharged in satisfactory condition after undergoing a course of active treatment.
Their elder brother, 5-year-old Narek, was already waiting for them at home.
