Tigran Abrahamyan: Artsakh Parliament Speaker should express public position on creating a Standing Committee on Artsakh
Lawmaker from the opposition "I have Honour" faction Tigran Abrahamyan commented on the proposed idea to create a Standing Committee on Artsakh and the position of the Artsakh authorities on the idea.
To remind, the two opposition factions at Armenian parliament have proposed to create a Standing Committee on Artsakh with activities to be focused on the financial, political, military, diplomatic, humanitarian, social support provided by Armenia to Artsakh and the negotiation process of the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
"The Speaker of the Armenian parliament stated on Monday that he had discussed the idea of creating the Standing Committee during the meeting with the Speaker of the Artsakh National Assembly. I do not want to make judgments based on the received message but if the Artsakh NA Speaker has a position on the matter, he should express it publicly," Abrahamyan wrote.
In the words of Abrahamyan, if the matter has been a subject of talks between the Speakers of the two parliaments, the Speaker of Artsakh parliament should express his position to not only the authorities of Armenia but also the initiators and supporters of the initiative, which are the opposition forces.
