Russian Ambassador visits Yeraskh after the border incident
Ambassador of Russia to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin visited on Monday Ararat province of Armenia. As the Embassy reported on its Facebook, while being on vacation, the Ambassador visited with family the archaeological site of Poqr Vedi village.
The Ambassador also visited separate sections of the Armenian border, visited Yeraskh village, where he met with Armenian and Russian border guards.
Ambassador Kopirkin next visited one of the border observation posts and laid flowers at the tomb of border guard Aleksandr Koryakov. The latter fell in 1948. performing his military service while thwarting the infiltration of a subversive group from Turkey.
To note, Russian Ambassador's visit to Yeraskh comes after the recent border incident as a result of which senior non-commissioned officer of the Armenian Armed Forces Vahan Tatosyan was killed by the Azerbaijani sniper.
