More than 200 pilgrims visit Amaras monastery in Artsakh accompanied by Russian peacekeepers
Servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent ensured the safety of more than 200 pilgrims when visiting the Amaras monastery complex near the demarcation line in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
“The task is to accompany the pilgrims to the Amaras monastery complex. This complex is located near the demarcation line, so the presence of the Russian peacekeeping contingent is necessary,” said Daniil Nikitin, a representative of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.
The Russian peacekeepers accompanied the pilgrims from Stepanakert to the Martuni region, who attended the service in the monastery of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the source said.
