National Assembly Council adopted decision to designate special places for the journalist’s activity

As the press service at parliament reported, as a result of amendments, the journalists will carry out their professional activity in special places separated in the residence of the National Assembly, in the foyer in front of the Session Hall, in the box and in the National Assembly Park. The latter can carry out their professional activities in the offices of the National Assembly deputies only by the deputies’ consent.
The draft law proposed to replace daily the 2000 visits up to 5000 set for the internet media, but the Head of Parliament proposed to leave unchanged that paragraph, and the members of the Council agreed.
The decision was adopted with 13 for and 4 against.
To note, the initiative had received strong criticism from media organizations and journalists' community named as a move aimed at restricting reporters' access to the parliament building and obstructing their professional activity.
