The Azerbaijani servicemen have stolen and not returned the 120 heads of cattle belonging to a resident of Armenian border village
After the war, the Azerbaijani servicemen did not return the 120 sheep that Mrs. Nazig Baghdasaryan, a resident of Tegh community of Syunik province, bought through loan. However, the credit organization is still demanding the payments of the loan, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan reported.
In his words, although the property is stolen and no longer in her possession, Mrs. Baghdasaryan is still paying the loan on the same terms to the credit organization. She still has 3 years for the final payment.
At the moment, the woman has difficulties to receive loans without interest, since her son delayed the payment for a month while he was at the border during the war.
Tatoyan said that during his visit to Tegh community, Mrs. Baghdasaryan informed him that she applied to the provincial administration of Syunik, and has received a compensation of 100.000 Drams for 120 sheep. However, these issues require systemic solutions. Numerous people have faced similar issues as a result of the criminal acts of the Azerbaijani armed forces.
"People have been deprived of their right to private property, and the opportunity to earn their living, and have faced grave social issues. We have recorded the issues that have been raised during this visit. Using these evidences, our state should initiate such process on international platforms, that will provide the opportunity to force Azerbaijan to compensate people for causing them to face these issues.
Based on the established procedure, we will of course send letters to the Government to understand their position on finding immediate solutions for these people until such processes are initiated on international platforms. We are prepared to work jointly on any issue," the Ombudsman concluded.
