Elon Musk says Tesla humanoid robot will arrive next year
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that the company would create a humanoid robot dubbed Tesla Bot. The announcement came at AI Day, a series of tech seminars held by Tesla in California to recruit machine learning expertise. Musk announced that the company is strong at sensors and batteries and would probably have a prototype that looks like this next year. He stated that while the actor was not a genuine robot, "the Tesla Bot will be real."
Musk claims that Tesla is working on new items that will be released to motivate backers such as employees, customers, and investors. Musk believes that if a humanoid robot works and can perform repetitive jobs that only humans can do today, it has the potential to alter the entire economy by driving down labour costs. On the other hand, Musk warned that the robot "probably won't function" at first.
According to Musk, the robot, code-named "Optimus," is built with the same processors and sensors that Tesla's cars use for self-driving functions. He said the robots would be five foot eight inches tall and has a screen where the head is for helpful information.
