Economy minister says there are difficulties for Iranian trucks to reach Yerevan
"It will be illogic for all cabinet members to rush to solve an issue for which there are responsible bodies in place," the Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Qerobyan told reporters on Friday speaking of the blocked interstate road from Iran to Armenia.
The minister expressed hope the matter will be resolved soon, adding the relevant works are underway.
"The trucks arriving from Iran have no issue with crossing the border, but the problem is with reaching capital Yerevan," said the minister, adding the trucks use a different route instead of the main highway, which is blocked by Azeri servicemen.
While the minister ensured the trucks are passing through Tatev-Aghvan road, he admitted that the latter is not adjusted for movement of trucks.
Qerobyan concluded that trilateral talks are underway aimed at unblocking the sections of the main interstate road connecting Armenia to Iran and added the authorities prefer to solve the issue through talks but at the same time are ready to resort to force upon necessity.
