Participants of “Classic Piano” international competition to perform with Armenia State Symphony Orchestra
The second grand edition of the “Classic Piano” International Piano Competition, which is held as part of the InClassica 10th international festival, is underway in Dubai. In the third and fourth rounds of the competition the participants will perform with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Sergey Smbatyan.
As the Orchestra said in a press statement, in the third round 18 pianists including from Russia, France, Japan, UK and Such Korea will perform a range of classical and contemporary repertoire, including works by the event’s Composer-In-Residence, Alexey Shor. The total prize fund of of the competition is €300,000.
The competition is organised by the European Foundation for Support of Culture (EUFSC), led by its President, the cultural entrepreneur Konstantin Ishkhanov. The EUFSC is a Malta-based non-profit organisation which works to promote cultural and educational engagement around the world via a range of projects including concerts, masterclasses, conferences, competitions and festivals.
As reported earlier, in the framework of the InClassica Festival, the Dubai Opera will host the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and the celebrated violinist Sergey Khachatryan on September 5, 2021, The musicians will perform great Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto under the baton of Sergey Smbatyan.
