Mirzoyan, Lavrov to hold talks in Moscow
Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan will meet with Russian FM Sergey Lavrov on August 31 in Moscow, the Russian foreign ministry reported on Saturday. According to the source, Mirzoyan's visit be the first foreign trip of the newly appointed minister.
The two ministers will also discuss in detail future steps aimed at developing Armenian-Russian allied relations in all spheres, strengthening of cooperation in common integration unions, such as CIS, CSTO and EAEU as well as the coordination of positions within the frameworks of international organizations, such as in the UN and OSCE.
The top diplomats will continue to discuss the implementation of the Russian, Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders’ statement of November 9, 2020 and agreements reached during their Moscow summit on January 11, 2021, including in the context of finding solutions to humanitarian problems and issues of unblocking transport and economic routes in the South Caucasus.
"We hope the talks scheduled in Moscow will contribute to deepening of allied cooperation and strengthening of security and stability in the regions," the ministry said.
