Opposition factions turn to the Constitutional Court
The two opposition factions of Armenia's National Assembly - "Armenia" and "I have Honour" blocs - have turned to the Constitutional Court of Armenia to dispute the powers of the Chairman of the National Assembly, as envisaged by the law. As the factions said in a joint statement, the petition specifically asks the Court to specify the loose interpretation of those powers and the selected approach of their application. According to opposition factions, as a result of exercises those powers, the activity of the deputies is obstructed, while the essence of their mandate is distorted.
