Outgoing Ararat governor comments on his resignation, ‘fake’ news on Tigranashen handover
Outgoing Governor of Armenia’s Ararat Province Razmik Tevonyan on Friday denied media reports that his resignation is linked to a document on the alleged “handover” of the village of Tigranashen to Azerbaijan.
“Dear compatriots, as you already know, I have submitted a resignation letter to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to be dismissed as Ararat Governor.
“Various theories of the reasons behind my resignation have circulated in the press and on social media platforms, one of which is that "a document on the handover of Tigranashen has been signed, which is the reason for the resignation.”
“I officially declare that the news on the surrender of Tigranashen is fake, nothing of the kind has ever been discussed or will be discussed. Please refrain from false and baseless speculations!” Tevonyan said in a statement.
