Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians His Holiness Karekin II received on Friday Artsakh Republic Foreign Minister David Babayan, Information department at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin reported. 

His Holiness Karekin II expressed gratitude to the minister for attending the international conference underway in Etchmiadzin which offered an opportunity to present comprehensive information to the participants about the current challenges Artsakh faces. The Catholicos also informed that in the past period the representatives of sister Churches have done works to voice the encroachments of Azerbaijan on Armenia and Artsakh in the international arena.  

During the meeting, His Holiness informed that the Secretary General of the World Council of Churches and the Chairman of the Conference of European Churches have been briefed about the ongoing works aimed at preserving the spiritual-cultural heritage of Artsakh. 

The Artsakh foreign minister, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the Catholicos of All Armenians for keeping Artsakh in the focus of attention, his substantial contribution to the process of developing and strengthening our country, emphasizing the key role of the Armenian Apostolic Church in preserving the independent Armenian statehood and Armenian national identity.
