The CSTO members have agreed to continue the progressive development of cooperative security forces and resources to enhance their willingness to meet the challenges. This is announced in the declaration of the CSTO Collective Security Council on Thursday, TASS news agency reported. 

"Taking into account the development of the military and political situation worldwide, particularly in the CSTO area of responsibility, the member states will continue the progressive development of the forces and resources of the cooperative security system in order to enhance their willingness to meet the challenges," the document revealed.

The CSTO countries will continue to strengthen cooperation with other international associations in the areas of mutual interest. "The CSTO member states will continue their collaborative work to develop the observer institutions under the CSTO to advance the system of external communication of our organization, to enhance its capabilities to contribute to strengthening international and regional security. The organization will strengthen its cooperation with the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Shanghai Cooperation (SCO), and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in areas of mutual interest," the declaration says.

It is reminded that a meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council chaired by Rahmon was held in Dushanbe on Thursday. The leaders of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and the organization’s secretary general gathered at the Palace of Nations. Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the event online. The heads of state signed a number of documents, including a declaration of the CSTO Collective Security Council and an agreement on legal assistance in cases related to the temporary presence of collective security forces in CSTO member states.
