Tigran Abrahamyan: Armenia army, competent authorities have the primary task of identifying ‘vulnerable border areas’
Armenian MP Tigran Abrahamyan from the opposition I Have the Honor bloc raised the issue of “vulnerable border areas”, calling for appropriate measures to deal with it.
"It has been nearly one month since Senior Lieutenant Artur Davidyan left the permanent deployment location of his military unit in yet unknown circumstances and ended up on Azerbaijani territory,” he wrote on Facebook on Friday.
“Given the fact that this is not the only such case in the post-war period (a few months ago, two servicemen were captured on the border and repatriated after being swapped with an Azerbaijani serviceman), the military and the competent authorities have the primary task of identifying vulnerable border areas and taking appropriate measures in that regard.
"In addition, it remains unclear in what circumstances our officer ended up on the Azerbaijani side and what steps are being taken to bring him back,” Abrahamyan said.
