Viktor Ambartsumian House-Museum offers free entry on Saturday
On Saturday, September 18, from 7pm, the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory organizes “Astronomy Day in Armenia” public event on the occasion of prominent Armenian scientist Viktor Ambartsumian’s anniversary and Astronomy Day in Armenia, the observatory said.
On these days observatory visitors can:
• Attend the lectures under the open sky
• Visit Viktor Ambartsumian House-Museum
• Observe the night sky through the telescope (depending on weather conditions)
• Have a VIP tour to 1m Schmidt Telescope
• Have a tour to 2.6m Telescope
• Visit planetarium.
On this occasion, the Viktor Ambartsumian House-Museum, 2.6m Telescope, 1m Schmidt Telescope and Planetarium will be open till 11pm.
You can Visit 1m Schmidt Telescope starting from 8pm.
The lectures under the starry nights will be held by Director of the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory Areg Mickaelian. The event starts at 7pm, lasting for one hour.
The lecture topics include “V. Ambartsumian’s life and activity”, “Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory” and ”Ancient Astronomy of Armenia”.
On this occasion, admission to the Viktor Ambartsumian House-Museum will be free of charge.

- Foreign citizens - 3,000 AMD
