Iranian ambassador concerned over problems with use of infrastructures connecting Iran to Armenia
Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council Armen Grigoryan on Wednesday hosted Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri, he said in a statement.
Noting the importance of the Armenian-Iranian relations, they highlighted that the intensity of the high-level meetings testifies to the development of relations and effective cooperation between the two countries.
Zohouri noted that the Armenian-Iranian relations are a successful model of cooperation and have undergone considerable qualitative changes in recent years. Both sides highlighted the high level of trade, which grew significantly over the past year.
Zohouri expressed concerns over the problems that have arisen in connection with the use of infrastructures connecting Iran to Armenia.
“Touching upon the undisrupted functioning of the infrastructures connecting Iran to Armenia, I stressed that Armenia realizes how sensitive the issue is for its Iranian partners and also attaches importance to the quick solution of the problem,” Grigoryan said.
Separately, speaking about the cargo transportation from India to the Black Sea the sides stressed the importance of the Chabahar Port of Iran, noting that Armenia is an important link on that route.
They also discussed issues related to the intensification of security, economic and energy cooperation between the two countries.
