Prosecutors General of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia met in Nur-Sultan
A trilateral meeting between the RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan, the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kyamran Aliyev, and the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov was held on Thursday, the press service at the Prosecutor General's Office reported. According to the source, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors' General of Member-states of the CIS in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
The parties stressed the importance of the format in terms of efforts contributing to establishing peace and lawfulness in the region and Artsakh, ensuring security, the vital activity and normal life of the Artsakh population.
The sides also expressed readiness to maintain the reached agreement on information exchange of various recorded offenses on the line of contact between Armenian-Azerbaijani armed forces and communication routes through Russian prosecutors deployed in Artsakh. It is noted that the Armenian side expressed readiness for discussions around establishing bilateral information exchange formats for avoiding escalation and communicating possible incidents or offenses.
During the meeting, Davtyan raised the need to implement the 8th point of the trilateral statement on the ceasefire signed on November 9, 2020 which is returning Armenian prisoners of war and other detainees to Armenia as soon as possible. This could lay basis for trust between the sides, possible cooperation in the future and ensure security and regional peace.
The sides have also highlighted the continuous support and efforts of the Russian side and personally Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov for reducing escalation in the region, resolving humanitarian issues and establishing a dialogue between the sides.
