Sofia Hovsepyan: Teachers in several Armenian schools want to quit due to vaccination requirement
Teachers in several schools of Armenia, mostly those who are planning pregnancy and do not want to get vaccinated, have already expressed a desire to leave their job, former lawmaker Sofia Hovsepyan said on Thursday.
According to a decision of the Armenian government, employees will have to either be vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit the results of a PCR test every 14 days at their own expense starting from October 1.
“Do you imagine what could happen? There are schools where 5-10 teachers will resign at once,” she wrote on Facebook.
“Are you going to fine the employer? Fine, shut down all working structures and bring the country to a final destruction,” Hovsepyan said.
She says the issue is important also due to a teacher shortage in Armenia.
“I’m not an anti-vaxxer, but simply warn of the imminent danger,” Hovsepyan added.
