Artur Vanetsyan: It’s extremely important to strengthen multilateral ties with Armenia's friendly countries
MP Artur Vanetsyan, the leader of the opposition I’m Honored faction, has condemned Azerbaijan’s “unacceptable and provocative” statements on Iran in recent days.
“In recent days, Azerbaijan has been making unacceptable and provocative statements on Iran, a friendly country for Armenia, at various levels. Clearly anti-Iranian steps are being taken aimed at creating a new wave of destabilization, new risks and challenges in the region,” Vanetsyan said in a statement on Thursday.
“Regular military exercises held in Azerbaijan jointly with Turkey also go to show that the official Baku and Ankara have no desire to build their long-term policies in line with the logic of achieving regional peace and that they have militaristic expansionist ambitions not only towards the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh.
“Therefore, I consider it extremely important, especially at this stage, to strengthen multilateral ties with Armenia's friendly countries, to bring them to a qualitatively new level, to provide unconditional support to each other in the field of common interests in the international arena, which will make it possible to establish a lasting, just and decent peace in our region,” reads the statement.
