Armenian defense minister, UK ambassador discuss regional security
Armenia’s Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan on Friday hosted British Ambassador to Armenia John Gallagher, the Defense Ministry reported.
The meeting addressed issues related to the regional security. The Armenian defense chief presented the border situation, pointing out the actions taken by Azerbaijan to destabilize the situation.
John Gallagher said that the United Kingdom supports the initiatives to establish a long-lasting peace and stability in the region and will continue to make efforts in this regard.
Issues related to bilateral cooperation in the defense sector were also discussed. The parties expressed readiness to continue the effective programs, initiating new areas of cooperation in case of possibility.
