September 28 is International Day for universal access to information
September 28. "Freedom of information is the key to security, corruption–free governance, and the well-being of the people. Freedom of Information Center has been working tirelessly for 20 years to protect and uphold this right in Armenia," the Head of the Center Shushan Doydoyan wrote on her Facebook page.
The "Golden Key - Rusty Lock" awards winner state agencies and officials will be announced on October 12, she wrote.
To remind, the day had been proclaimed by the UNESCO General Conference in 2015. The theme of the 2021 International Day for Universal Access to Information will highlight the role of access to information laws and their implementation to build back strong institutions for the public good and sustainable development, as well as to strengthen the right to information and international cooperation in the field of implementing this human right.
