Armenian FM meets with head of ICRC delegation
Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Wednesday hosted Thierry Ribaux, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation to Armenia, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on cooperation between Armenia and the ICRC in addressing the humanitarian problems in Artsakh and the ongoing activities of the organization.
Mirzoyan stressed the need for the immediate and unconditional release of all Armenian prisoners of war and civilian captives held in Azerbaijan.
It was stated that Azerbaijan denies the fact of holding a large number of prisoners of war, which creates serious grounds for suspicion of serious crimes committed by Azerbaijan against the captives, including their enforced disappearances.
Ararat Mirzoyan said that there should not be artificial obstacles for international organizations to carry out a humanitarian mission in Artsakh and the issue should not be politicized.
