Hayko’s songs to be played at Yerevan’s Republic Square in tribute to artist
Songs of famous Armenian singer and composer, Honored Artist of Armenia Hayko will be played at the Republic Square in Yerevan on Thursday and Friday evening to pay tribute to the artist, Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan said.
The singer, whose full name was Hayk Hakobyan, passed away on Wednesday after battling Covid-19 in hospital for almost a week.
“Rest in peace, my dear friend! Today and tomorrow evening, from 8pm to 10pm, Hayko’s songs will be played at the Republic Square,” the mayor wrote on Facebook.
The requiem service for the artist will be held at St. Hovhannes Church in Kond on Thursday, starting from 6pm.
