Arms dealer Davit Galstyan arrested
Arms dealer Davit Galstyan, better known as Patron Davo, has been placed under arrest for two months, his lawyer Armen Harutyunyan told Pastinfo.
Judge Gagik Poghosyan of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction granted a motion for his arrest filed by the National Security Service (NSS) on Thursday.
The lawyer said that the ruling would be appealed to a higher court.
Earlier on Thursday, the court approved the arrest of Armenia’s former Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan.
Both are accused of embezzlement and fraud that cost the state around 2.3 billion drams ($4.7 million).
