Armenian expert: Iran stepping up propaganda push against Baku dictator at official level
Iran is stepping up propaganda push against the Baku dictator (referring to Ilham Aliyev) at the official level as well, Armenian expert on Iran Vardan Voskanyan said on Thursday.
“Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s government, in fact, directly addressed the people of Azerbaijan, emphasizing the fact of their shared religious beliefs,” he wrote on Facebook.
“In the diplomatic language, the Iranian minister's statement ‘Azerbaijan is on the civilizational territory of Islamic Iran, and they should follow our example’ is actually a call to the Azerbaijani people to carry out an Islamic revolution and oust the Baku of dictator following the example of Iran.
“I guess the Aliyev and Erdogan regimes, to put it mildly, would not like the statement of the Iranian official that ‘the people of Azerbaijan are our people’, because the ‘ideological’ axis of Baku-Ankara relations was the well-known idea of ‘one nation, two states’,” Voskanyan said.
